Die Cut Diva- Penguins

Thanks for joining me today-at Die Cut Diva's, the challenge is to make a project with snow, and here is a card I did-

The above picture is the outside. I used black cardstock to mat the red penguin paper (stash) and added a Spellbinders Lacy Oval with a Studio G sentiment and American Crafts ribbon on it to the front of a pop up card die from Elizabeth Crafts Design. And in the center-

I completed the penguin theme using the penguin die from Elizabeth Crafts Design. The blue cardstock (stash) was embossed with Anna Griffiths Cuttlebug embossing folder Snowflakes, and highlighted with white chalk ink. The igloo is from Cricut (Create a Critter cartridge), and the lights are from Jolee's. Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #240 Anything But a Card

This Weeks Sponsor

~This Weeks Challenge~
Create any project, that is not a card!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

I wish you could see this in person-it doesn't show the glitter spray like I wanted it to. But here is a list of what I used-
  1. I used 2 Dollar Tree wreaths for the candle ring. Believe me, there is no such thing as two equal sized wreaths! I put the smaller one inside the bigger one and wired them together with floral wire. I also sprayed Krylon green glitter all over, but it just wouldn't photograph. Darn.
  2. Made 5 roses from the Giant Flowers cartridge. Each rose fit on one 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock. After assembling, they were sprayed with Krylon Silver Gitter for extra sparkle.
  3. Flourishes are from Home Decor cartridge, cut at 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" from scrap green cardstock.
  4. Snowflakes are Impression Obsession, silver Wausau shimmer paper.
  5. Candle holder is Mercury Glass.
Thanks for visiting today, and make a fun project to enter and win a wonderful prize!

Halloween Projects

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

Here is my project-

I wasn't real happy with the tray insert I made last year, so this year I decided to make a Halloween scene. I just love how it turned out!

Here's a list of what I did-
  1. Background is a purplely blue glitter paper-Colorbok (Big Lots).
  2. Hand cut ground from black glitter paper, attached to background.
  3. Cut circle (5") from deep yellow cardstock from Plantin Schoolbook for moon.
  4. From Monster Bash, cut Haunted House (5"), tree (5"), black cat (1 1/4"), crow (1") out of black cardstock.
  5. From Happy Haunting, cut ghost (3") from white cardstock.
  6. Cut bats from Spellbinders Bat die out of black scraps.
Normally I would use my ATG gun or a tape runner, but I glued anything that went onto the glitter paper (Beacon 3 in 1).

The FCCB design team did a Halloween card swap, and here is the card I received from Avril Tanner-

Isn't this just too cute? I love the tulle and those purple jingle bells! The 3d star is a great way to add dimension-cute, cute, cute!

Exploring Cricut & More Birthday Celebration week!

Here is another Birthday project! This cupcake box was made using Sweet Tooth Boxes, cut at 11 1/2"-

My mom's birthday was yesterday, and a German Chocolate Cupcake (Gluten Free) went in this so she could have cake for her special day. I chose the dark brown cardstock for the chocolate, and the Antique Cream Berry Plaid (Keeping Memories Alive) reminded me so much of the frosting. I did use gold Liquid Pearls to jazz up the icing, and added the rust colored flowers (Prima) to resemble the baked coconut. I used my alcohol marker to color the pearls in the flowers brown, and used brown organza ribbon to complete my arrangement.

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to enter a project for those great prizes!

Exploring Cricut & More 4th Birthday Celebration week!

Exploring Cricut & More is turning 4 this week! And here is a Twisted Easel card I made for the occasion-

I also needed a card for my sisters birthday in December, so I made this to celebrate her love of motorcycles. She has a Harley Road King, so this bike isn't a Harley, but she'll like it anyway! The image came from Rock Princess, cut at 4 3/4". All of the bike is cut using scraps. The hair is almost identical to my sisters real hair color-it's gorgeous! The road is a Paper Trey ink stamp embossed with white embossing powder,  and the bottom sentiment (Live life at full throttle) is from Unity Stamp Co.

Thanks for visiting me today, and make sure you enter a project-what great prizes!

Design Team Announcement!

I'm super excited to announce that I have been accepted into the Die Cut Diva's Design Team! They have awesome challenges and prizes, so I hope to see you there! Here are two cards I made for the occasion.

This is my fall card, made with a Bugaboo digital freebie, Spellbinders die, black Offray ribbon, Unity Stamp Co sentiment,  and Best Creations Halloween paper-

And this is my spring card! This also has a Bugaboo digital image, purple Offray sheer ribbon, and Creative Memories paper (embossed with Cuttlebug Victoria).

Squirrel Challenge at BBTB2

Hi, and welcome to my blog. This week at BBTB2 the challenge was to make a project with squirrels and/or nuts, so here is my project-

I decided to make my husband's Christmas card this year. Since our last name is Nutter, I thought this would be appropriate! I cut the squirrels from Cindy Loo cartridge at 4", using Wausau Royal Metallic Shimmer paper (copper, gold), and scraps of brown & beige. The sentiment is computer generated onto ivory cardstock and matted with a scrap of matte gold. The background paper is from
Bo-Bunny.

Thank you for visiting today!

Exploring Cricut & More Halloween week!

  2. Black Cardstock-(8) 12 x 12 sheets.
  3. Panel cuts from Graphics 45, Karen Foster, and The Paper Place.
  4. LED tealights from Michaels
Just make sure you watch the video to know how to put it together-much easier! I also love the other projects in the package-Skeleton, Lantern, Witch Leg card, and Pumpkin Treat Bucket.

FCCB #230-Shape Up card

Hello, Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday

Challenge #230 Shape Up
Make a shaped card (any shape but rectangle or square)

This Weeks Sponsor

SVG Attic

$15.00 Giftcard

~Design Team Inspiration~

This week's Challenge:
Shape Up: Make a shaped card

This was made with Artbooking (page 11) for the card itself, and Anna Griffiths Winter Wonderland for the Sentiment. I cut the card at 5 1/2 inches, using white, grey, and the pink foil from Colorbok (Wal-Mart). I love this foil, as it cuts perfectly every time with my Cricut. The "Joy" is cut from Wausau Royal Metallic Shimmer paper, using white, light silver, and dark silver. The flowers are some I found in a thrift store-25 of them for 40 cents! I think white poinsettias would look fantastic too.

Recently the FCCB Design Team held a card and tag swap.  I received the following tag & card from Diana Martin-

Isn't that card just adorable? Love all the faux stitching Diana did! And the picture doesn't do the tag justice-the twine has gold accents, there's rhinestones and shimmer paper to give it an elegant look.

Be sure to entry our challenge this week for a chance at a great prize!

BBTB2 Challenge-Butterflies

At BBTB2 the Challenge is Butterflies, so I made my Mom a birthday card (she'll be 77 next month) using her favorite colors and favorite winged creature-

This was made with Damask Decor cartridge. I had gotten this holographic gold a long time ago, so I don't know who made it. The green foil is from Colorbok, green rhinestones Michaels, Avery Elle "Thanks a bunch" tag & sentiment.

Mom's favorite color combo is green and gold, and she LOVES bling!

Thank you for visiting!

Exploring Cricut & More Autumn Challenge

Fall is in the air, and this is a project I've wanted to make for a long time, and finally got around to it! It took a challenge at Exploring Cricut & More to do it, but I'm glad I did, so here it is-

This was made with Arbooking (letters) and Home for the Holidays Fall & Winter (pennants). The paper is from my stash, and no manufacture name on it. The ribbon is from my stash, but will be replaced when I find a dark brown or sage green ribbon I like better. I'm also going to laminate the pennants for the cooler, wetter weather.

Thanks for looking!
