Die Cut Diva's & Frantic Stampers

The challenge this month at Die Cut Diva's is to make a card using fall colors or about a fall holiday (great site here for September holidays!). Our fabulous sponsor this month is-

And you could win this great die, a $25.99 value!

Here is my project-

I chose to make a card for Emma M. Nutt Day, which celebrates the first woman telephone operator in America.

Emma Nutt became the first woman telephone operator on September 1, 1878. She loved the job, and worked at it for 33 years.

This special day celebrates the world of telephone operators. It was a very important job for many decades. Today, the position has been eliminated being replaced by automation in telephone systems.

A little side note about Emma: According to Emma, she was "very thankful that my first name was not Imma".

This card looks like it would have been right in vogue in 1878, with the damask paper and the red rose!

Except for the stamping, this card is made entirely of die cut elements. Here is a list of materials:
  1. Sentiment: from Big Cats set (Mark's Finest Papers).
  2. Paper: Black Currant Stack (DCWV), red cardstock (Recollections).
  3. Dies: Woven Ribbon background (Frantic Stamper), Rose Creations (Spellbinders), banners (My Favorite Things).

Thanks for visiting!
